Our organisation is a not for profit incorporated society and its primary goal is to create a community of people from around New Zealand working with wine, beverages, wine and beverage sales, marketing within the sectors of hospitality, wine, wine tourism, wine education, wine marketing and sales and people who share the values of the Association
In 2020, the New Zealand Sommeliers and Wine Professionals was accepted as a full member of the Association of Sommeliers International (ASI).

ASI Certification 1 2025

CMS Introductory Sommelier Certificate 2025

The Introductory Sommelier Certificate is a three-day intensive program comprised of two days of course work followed by one day of examinations.
CMS Certified Sommelier Certificate 2025

The Certified Sommelier is the primary certification for wine and beverage professionals, comprised of one full day of examinations.
ASI Diploma Exam 2026

ASI Diploma offers three qualifications in French, English or Spanish. Gold and Silver in a foreign language, Bronze if completed in English.
