In this class, we will taking a closer look at identifying aromas that give us information about a product; may trigger desire to consume of may send us warnings about whether or not to consume.
'We have around 50 or so different kind of taste receptors, they give rise to a handful of taste sensations- the familiar sweet, sour, salty, and bitter and the less familiar umami or savoury. All of these indicate the likely suitability of foods and drinks for our nourishment,' Dr Harold McGee
